A+ or A series engine number guide

Here you can identify your A series or A+ engine type from your engine tag (if still present) if not check out this PAGE for common identifying features

If you have the engine tag still attached to the engine – just in front/below the thermostat housing – or perhaps the original engine number in the log book then the following should help you determine which engine you have. For Metro units, see ‘Engine – Metro identification data’.

    Hi I have a replacement A+ unit which I fitted for my late father-inlaw in the late 80’s to mid 90’s which was a factory gold/silver seal unit. it is a 1275 and has an a+head and its engine number is LBB10248E208276. Do you have any information about this prefix?
